Mr. Smith is a Master Technician with over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry. He is a bumper-to-bumper expert who has extensive experience with vehicle systems including automatic and manual transmissions, gasoline and diesel engines, electric and hybrid powertrains, drivetrains, computer controls and electronics, brakes, steering and suspension, and climate control systems, among others. Mr. Smith frequently assesses claims and issues related to vehicles and machinery, and has analyzed a myriad of vehicle types, including automobiles, buses and tractors. He consults on many topics related to vehicle service and repair, including warranty issues, preventative maintenance, standard of care, and best practices.

Before becoming a consultant, Mr. Smith held positions including Lead Technician and Smog Inspector at automotive dealerships. In 2015, he was the winner of the Ford Professional Technician Society (PTS) Challenge, which recognizes senior master technicians for their elite work in vehicle diagnostics and repair. His experience also extends to the classroom as an automotive professor and certified Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) instructor at Cosumnes River College.
