Mr. Schooley is a Master Technician with over twenty years of experience in the automotive industry. As an expert in vehicle technology and repair, he has experience assessing issues with nearly every type of vehicle, from automobiles and SUVs to trucks and other light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles. He has education and experience in many areas including drivability, gasoline and diesel engines, emission controls computer and electrical systems, steering and suspension, brakes, manual and automatic transmissions, drivetrains, heating ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems, hybrid and electric-vehicle systems, among others. He specializes in analyzing claims and concerns in the field of vehicle service and repair, and often inspects automobiles, trucks, buses, tractors, and other types of vehicles or machinery to assess concerns, claims or issues involving them. He also consults on automotive service and repair topics including best practices, standard of care, warranty issues, and preventative maintenance among others.

Before becoming a consultant, Mr. Schooley held roles at automotive service and repair facilities including as a Lead Technician, Smog technician, Service Manager, and Service Advisor. In addition to his extensive in-shop experience, he educated technicians as an automotive instructor at Universal Technical Institute (UTI) in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. UTI recognized Mr. Schooley as a top performing automotive expert and teacher by designating him, twice, as an “Instructor of the Year”. As an award-winning instructor, he taught courses on topics including automatic transmissions, hybrid and electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and service advising.
