Mr. West is a mechanical engineer with more than thirty years of experience in the automotive industry. He often applies his expertise to analyze the design and performance of vehicles and their systems, or to investigate the cause of vehicle related concerns, failures and fires.
Before becoming a consultant, Mr. West held a number of engineering design, service, and product development positions at Ford Motor Company. From 2011 until 2022, he was a Design Analysis Engineer in Ford Motor Company’s Automotive Safety Office where he led safety related investigations, including into the origin and cause of vehicle fire incidents.
Mr. West earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Automotive Engineering from Western Michigan University in 1990. In addition to his formal education, Greg has completed numerous training programs and certifications while at Ford, including the Ford College Graduate Program (Engine Product & Manufacturing Engineering), DV&PV, FMEA, EEC-IV Mechanics/Technicians Course, among others. He is also a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator through the National Association of Fire Investigators.
